Joseph A. "Joe" Vasquez

j_alvarez.jpgA native of Miami, Florida, Joe Vasquez was born April 23, 1967.  He is 1989 cum laude graduate of The Citadel where he received a bachelor of arts in political science.  As an undergraduate, Mr. Vasquez was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, and Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society.  In 1989, he was a Rhodes Scholarship finalist in South Carolina.

Mr. Vasquez received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993 and was admitted to practice in South Carolina that same year.  He clerked at Setzler & Scott during law school and joined the firm as an associate in 1993.  Mr. Vasquez became a partner in 2001 and is a member of the Lexington County and American Bar Associations, as well as the South Carolina Bar.

Mr. Vasquez is a member of the Dutch Fork Civitan Club, serving as vice president in 1995-96, president-elect in 1996-97 and president in 1997-98.  From 1996-98, he served on the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Cayce West Columbia.
